ABOUT ME
MY STORY
Samuel L Cohen is an actor, writer, clown and award-winning poet.
A past student of Rose Bruford College and The Giles Foreman Centre for Acting, he draws on a lifelong passion for myths and legends to produce work which lifts ancient stories into modern contexts, suffused with the irresistibly riotous humour of his native Bristol.
Past work includes “Mephisto’s Solution”, an interactive digital piece exploring the chilling internet footprint of a modern Faustus; and “Into the Sea We Go”, a cabaret-inspired reinterpretation of Celtic myths of the sea for a modern world facing rising sea levels.
His works in progress include “Gilgamesh; The Man Who Saw The Deep”, a comic retelling of the Epic of Gilgamesh in a Mad Max style post-apocalyptic future; and “Theodore and the Beast”, a reimagining of the Theseus and the Minotaur myth set in the zombie apocalypse.
